Refurbishmentof Neville Hall in Newcastle upon Tyne, home of the North East Institute of Mining and Mechanical Engineers.

G&T will work alongside architect Howarth Litchfield to restore the Grade II* Listed building, which is located within the Central Newcastle Conservation Area, back to its former condition.

The £5m project involves the renovation of both the exterior and interior of the building, including the restoration of the Nicholas Wood Memorial Hall and the Edwardian Lecture Theatre. The renovation will use modern energy efficient improvements, while still preserving the building’s rich history.

The project has received funding from the Heritage Lottery Fund, and is set to complete in July 2020.

Established in 1852, NEIMME is the world’s oldest professional mining organisation, and played a vital role during the Industrial Revolution.

Meters UK have supplied the heat, water and electric meters for the project.
